I am so excited to be sharing this post with all of you today! As the title states, I am finally sharing my Kolo Mee recipe!! This is the stuff of dreams. I think it is safe to say that most Sarawakians’ abroad crave this dish, miss it to the point that you dream of it. For those of you who live in a country where you can buy decent ready made Kolo Mee, I’m jealous of your good fortune. I happen to live in a city where this is not an option. So the only way for me to satisfy my craving is to make it from scratch; starting with the noodles.

The Ramadan Food Experience

Hello everyone! If you follow my Instagram or Twitter you will probably know that I was back in sunny Kuching along with M. We were there for almost 2 weeks before going to China. I’ll write a post on China later.

We were fortunate enough to be back during the Ramadan period! This has always been a favorite period of mine so I was really glad M would get a chance to experience it. The excitement and fervor during this period as our Muslim friends prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri provides a very different atmosphere as you go about town. This month-long period is coloured with an array of sights and smells to tickle your senses.

Viennese Sables – With a Twist

Do you like cookies? Well, I do. I have always loved cookies – especially butter cookies. My earliest memory of butter cookies were Danish Butter Cookies that were sold in a round blue tin. Just like this one here.

077330530064These were the bomb. As I grew up, my family started buying them less and less. I am not sure why but needless to say they have always been on my mind. My guess as to why my parents stopped buying them would be due to me and my gluttony of finishing half the tin on my own .

10 Asian Kitchen Must-Haves

Hello! I have yet to properly test out any recipes to publish (promise I’ll get to it). Instead I thought I’d share some kitchen ‘Must-Haves’ with you instead .

I hail from Malaysia and lineage wise I am Chinese.  So the ‘Must-Haves’ listed here will be based of a Malaysian-Chinese kitchen. Without these core ingredients in their kitchen, I think many Malaysian-Chinese’ cooks would be lost -I would be! Anyone else feel this way?
