How to prep meals for working days

Hi everyone! It has been awhile hasn’t it. After a long day at work I have very little motivation to do anything else. Oops. My bad for abandoning this blog. I’m trying to factor in blogging into my weekends but we are away so often that it is becoming a mission! Today must be the on of the few weekends that we have actually stayed put in Nelson so I thought I’d take the opportunity to write a post. This topic […]

Things to do: Nelson

So the perfect Nelson weather has been traded in for cold rainy days. Ah well, it was good while it lasted.  In light of the crappy weather I decided that today would be the perfect day to start writing about what we have done in Nelson. Because I will have to split it into a series of posts, I think I shall start a NZ Series as I have done with Kuching and Xiamen. Most of the activities I’ll be writing […]

The Best Scone Recipe

I just whipped up a batch of these scrumptious scones today. As I started to butter one for afternoon tea, it hit me. I have yet to share the recipe with everyone here!  I am sorry. Please forgive me.  I slightly tweaked the original recipe by adding more butter and a touch of vanilla. It is incredulously easy to make and the scones produced are out of this world. The texture is crumbly and so so sooo soft, it feels like […]

Granola Bars Recipe

Wooh! It is the weekend. This weekend we also have the added bonus of having Anzac Day fall on a Monday – bring on the long weekend. Usually we take a long drive somewhere and we all know how taxing drives can be. You need to crank up the music and have snacks on hand to survive. We usually buy all sorts of junk food to fuel us. Yes, yes I know it is bad for us but really the muesli bars […]

Spiced Friands (Almond cakes)

Hello everyone! Work has been crazy busy lately with the number of cases compounding every passing day. I have recently started baking again and often bring it to the office to share. Many of my colleagues are gluten free so I have been trying out more gluten free recipes. While going through my recipe arsenal I came across this friand recipe I tried during Christmas. Friands are little almond cakes that taste absolutely exquisite but cost a fortune at cafes. […]

Hello from Nelson!

Goodness me, I can’t believe that I have been living in Nelson for a whole month now. How time flies. To my horror I also noticed that the last time I posted something here was in January!  My apologies. Do not worry though, I have finally sorted myself out and I am back to blog with a vengeance (if time permits). I will try to post a recipe soon but this week I thought I’d do an update and also some […]
